Data Storage Conference

The data storage innovation conference (June 13-15) promises to be a quality networking event for all those involved with IT professionals specifically focusing on data and storage. Among the many activities and speeches excepted at the conference were are looking forward to the following particular highlights;

  • Vendor-neutral education in form of SNIA Tutorials
  • Solutions from industry leaders
  • Venue for smaller companies and start-ups to demonstrate their solutions
  • Birds-of-a-Feather Sessions
  • Expo hall
  • Networking activities

Located in the fabulous Californian setting of San Mateo, you can expect to see as much of the sun as you can from networking IT specialists. Through the conferences website, you can book a room at the nearby San Mateo Marriott for $239 a night online.

Guest speakers include Camberley Bates who joined Evaluator Group as Managing Director in 2009, Russ Fellows who brings over 25 years of diverse experience in the IT sector and Balint Fleischer who is responsible for the research and planning of future IT research areas.

The talks will give you insights into the newest technological advancements and trends such as big data, cloud-based securities, IoT and storage developments. The DSI conference will also demonstrate vendor-neutral SNIA tutorials which are authored by industry experts and peer reviewed by SNIA members. The event will aim to show a full selection of data storage issues.

The SNIA (Storage Networking Industry Association) is a not for profit organisation made up of the global storage market. It is SNIA’s mission to host this event and to lead the storage industry worldwide in developing and promoting standards, technologies and educational services in the management of information.

The three-day conference will feature over 80 sessions all covering over 20 themes as discussed previously. We have selected a handful of talks which we are the most excited about;

Privacy vs Data Protection: The Impact of EU Data Legislations (talk conducted by Thomas Rivera – Sr Technical Associate HDS)
Dealing with the Other Latency What the Cloud Portends for IT infrastructures (talk conducted by Lazarus Vekiarides – CTO and Co-founder, Clearsky Data)

We encourage all that can make the long trip to do so, as the most interesting and important figures in the world of data storage will be in one place at one time. It is a great opportunity to learning something new, get inspired and to make new connections. Oh and to take in some Californian sun of course!
